1. Introduction

ReleaseScribe AI — an application by BuzzClan · Last Updated: June 2026

ReleaseScribe AI ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is an application by BuzzClan built on the Atlassian Forge platform for Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud. The App turns completed Jira work into audience-tailored release notes and sprint digests and publishes them to Confluence.

This Privacy Policy explains how the App collects, uses, stores, and protects information when it is installed and used on your Atlassian Cloud site. The App is designed for zero data egress: it runs entirely within Atlassian's infrastructure, does not store your content, and does not transmit data to BuzzClan or any third party. This policy applies specifically to the App and supplements BuzzClan's general company privacy policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Jira and Confluence Data

When you trigger an action, the App reads the following from your Atlassian Cloud site, on demand and only for that action:

  • Jira issue data for the fix version or sprint you select — issue summaries, issue types, statuses, labels, issue keys, and the display names of assignees.
  • Jira project, version, board, and sprint metadata needed to list and select what to generate.
  • Confluence space information needed to let you choose where to publish, and the page you ask the App to create.

All requests are made as the signed-in user, so the App can only access data that the user is already permitted to see. The App requests the minimum permission scopes required: read:jira-work, read:jira-user, read:sprint:jira-software, read:board-scope:jira-software, write:page:confluence, and read:space:confluence.

2.2 Account and Authentication Data

Authentication is handled entirely by Atlassian and the Forge platform using your existing Atlassian identity. The App does not create or maintain separate user accounts, and it does not collect or store passwords, OAuth tokens, API keys, or session data of its own.

2.3 Logs

The App does not maintain audit logs, analytics, or any logs of your Jira or Confluence content. It keeps no record of the issues it reads or the drafts it generates.

3. How We Use Your Information

Information accessed by the App is used solely to deliver the feature you request:

  • Selected issue data is sent to Atlassian's native Forge LLM (Claude) to generate a draft. This processing occurs within Atlassian's infrastructure.
  • The generated draft is displayed to you for review.
  • When you choose to publish, the draft is written as a page in the Confluence space you select.

We do not use your information for any purpose beyond performing these actions on your behalf.

4. Limited Use and Data-Handling Commitments

The App adheres to Atlassian Marketplace and Forge data-handling policies and is designed around the principle of least privilege. Specifically, we commit that the App does not:

  • sell your data;
  • use your data for advertising or profiling;
  • transfer your data to BuzzClan or any third party;
  • use your data for any purpose other than providing the App's release-notes and sprint-digest functionality.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Storage

  • The App does not store, persist, or maintain a copy of your Jira or Confluence data — it operates no database, cache, or content log.
  • Issue data exists only transiently in memory for the duration of a single generation request and is discarded when the request completes.
  • The only durable output is the Confluence page you explicitly publish, which lives in your own Confluence instance under your control.

5.2 Security Measures

  • The App runs entirely on the Atlassian Forge platform and inherits Atlassian's security controls, including TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, and platform isolation.
  • The App holds no credentials of its own and stores no secrets. Because it stores no customer data, there is no separate data store to be accessed or breached.

For a full description of our security model, controls, and vulnerability reporting, see the Security Policy.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

The App does not share your data with BuzzClan, with any third party, or with any external service. It declares no external egress permissions and makes no network requests outside Atlassian, so your data does not leave the Atlassian Cloud environment through the App.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Because the App retains no copy of your data, there is nothing for it to retain or delete on your behalf. Your source data in Jira and any pages you publish in Confluence remain entirely under your control and subject to Atlassian's and your organization's data policies. A site administrator can remove the App at any time via Manage apps in Atlassian administration; uninstalling the App leaves no residual copy of your content with us.

8. Your Rights

Access to data through the App is governed by your existing Atlassian permissions and your site administrator's configuration. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data. Because the App stores no personal or customer data itself, such requests are satisfied within your own Atlassian instance and your organization's data-management processes. For questions about the App's data handling, contact us using the details below.

9. Cookies and Tracking

The App is a Forge module rendered inside the Atlassian product interface. It does not set cookies and does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising technologies of its own.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements. Material changes are reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
