AI release notes & sprint digests from your completed Jira work, published to Confluence.
ReleaseScribe AI turns completed Jira work into audience-tailored release notes and sprint digests, then publishes them to Confluence as a draft — in under two minutes. All AI generation runs on Atlassian's native Forge LLM, so your data never leaves Atlassian.
Requirements
- A Jira Cloud site (the app appears inside Jira projects).
- Confluence Cloud on the same site (only needed for the Publish step).
- An active subscription or free trial of ReleaseScribe AI.
- A site admin to install the app from the Atlassian Marketplace.
Installation
- From the Atlassian Marketplace listing, click Get it now (or Try it free).
- A site admin approves the installation for your site (Jira + Confluence).
- The app is ready immediately — no configuration required.
Opening ReleaseScribe AI
- Open any Jira project.
- In the project's navigation, click More (or the project sidebar) and choose Release Notes (AI).
- The app opens with two tabs: Release notes and Sprint digest.
Generating release notes (from a fix version)
- On the Release notes tab, choose an Audience:
- Customer — benefit-led, non-technical, no issue keys.
- Executive — concise, outcome- and impact-focused.
- Engineering — technical detail, including issue keys and links.
- In the versions table, find the fix version you want (each row shows its issue count).
- Click Generate. ReleaseScribe reads the version's done issues and drafts structured notes in seconds.
- Review the draft preview below the table.
Generating a sprint digest
- Open the Sprint digest tab (requires a Scrum board with sprints).
- Pick a sprint and click Generate.
- ReleaseScribe produces a stakeholder digest covering completed work, carryover, and blockers.
Publishing to Confluence
- After generating, scroll to Publish to Confluence.
- Choose a Confluence space from the dropdown.
- Edit the page title if needed (it is prefilled).
- Click Publish draft. A draft page is created and a link is shown.
- Open the link to finish editing in Confluence, then publish it there.

Handling edge cases
- No completed issues: the app shows a clear message and makes no AI call — never a fabricated document.
- Large releases (200+ issues): ReleaseScribe summarises in batches and shows a notice so generation stays fast and reliable.
Data, security & privacy
ReleaseScribe runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform (Runs on Atlassian). AI generation uses Atlassian's built-in Forge LLM (Claude); no data is sent to any third party, and the app stores no issue content. See the Privacy Policy and Security Policy for full details.
Licensing & trial
- ReleaseScribe AI is a paid app billed through the Atlassian Marketplace, with a free trial.
- During an active trial or subscription, all features are available. Without one, generation and publishing are disabled and the app shows a "Subscription required" message.

FAQ
Why don't I see any versions?
The project has no fix versions, or its issues aren't assigned to one. Create a version under Project settings → Releases and set the Fix Version field on your done issues.
Why is the Sprint digest tab empty?
Sprint digests need a Scrum board with sprints. Kanban-only projects won't list sprints.
Where did my published page go?
It's created as a Confluence draft. Open the link from the success message and click Publish in Confluence to add it to the space.
Does my data leave Atlassian?
No. All processing uses Atlassian's Forge LLM and REST APIs — zero external egress.
