Page Pulse – Privacy Policy
1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Page Pulse ("the app"), provided by BuzzClan ("we", "us"), handles information when you use it. Page Pulse is an Atlassian Forge app for Confluence Cloud that surfaces page freshness and helps administrators manage stale content.
Page Pulse runs entirely on Atlassian's infrastructure and sends no data to any external system. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
To compute freshness and build its reports, Page Pulse accesses and stores the following Confluence metadata through Atlassian's APIs:
- Page identifiers, titles, and links
- Page creation and last-modified dates (version history timestamps)
- Labels applied to pages
- Page-owner account identifiers and display names (used for attribution and to route review requests)
- Review activity created within the app (who requested or confirmed a review, and when)
- Per-space configuration you set (staleness threshold and excluded labels)
Page Pulse does not read, collect, or store the body content of your pages, and it does not collect Atlassian passwords, API tokens, or other credentials.
3. How We Use Your Information
Information is used solely to provide the app's functionality:
- Calculate each page's freshness status (Fresh / Aging / Stale) and show it in the page byline
- Build the space report that ranks pages by staleness for administrators
- Route "request review" notifications to the relevant page owner
- Apply your per-space settings (threshold and excluded labels)
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the app, and we never sell it.
4. Limited Use Requirements
Information accessed through Atlassian APIs is subject to a limited-use commitment. Specifically, we:
- use the data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of Page Pulse;
- do not transfer the data to others except as necessary to provide the app, or as required by law;
- do not use the data for advertising, and never sell it;
- do not allow humans to read the data, except where you have given consent, for security or support purposes, or where required by law.
5. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored within Atlassian-hosted Forge storage and Confluence content properties. It never leaves the Atlassian cloud environment, and the app declares no external network permissions (zero egress).
Page Pulse runs on the Atlassian Forge platform and inherits its security controls, including tenant isolation and platform-managed storage. All administrative actions in the app are authorized server-side against Confluence permissions on every request, and no credentials or secrets are stored or logged.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Data is retained only while the app is installed and is managed by the Atlassian Forge platform. When Page Pulse is uninstalled, its stored data is deleted by Atlassian. A page's freshness indicator (content property) is removed when the page is excluded by label or deleted. You remain in control of your data through standard Confluence and Atlassian organization administration.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because Page Pulse stores data within your own Atlassian instance and processes it only to provide the app, such requests are typically handled through your Atlassian site administrator. Uninstalling the app removes its stored data. For any request or question about your data, contact us using the details in Section 11.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate them through appropriate channels.
